The combination is the strong version: a short live session to open a day, then individual readings people receive privately and sit with afterwards. That mirrors how a retreat already works — shared time, then solitary time — instead of fighting it.
What suits a retreat specifically
Work that gives someone something to sit with is a better fit than a quick answer.
