Hire a tarot reader or psychic for a birthday party

Last updated

A birthday is the easiest occasion to give a reading at, because the question is already on the table: what does the year ahead hold? On Divina you book a named tarot reader or psychic at a flat price, for a year-ahead reading given as the gift, a live video session the party joins, or short readings for every guest.

Booking a reader for an event?

Birthday parties: say the date, the headcount, the city and the format, and we will source the right practitioner — in person where we can, live over video where we cannot.

Optional

We confirm availability and price with you before anything is booked or paid.

Three ways a reader fits a birthday

  • The gift. A year-ahead tarot reading or a psychic reading commissioned for the birthday person, delivered as a written reading or a recording they keep. The most common booking by far, and often the one the friends chip in for.
  • The activity. A live video session on a laptop in the room, guests taking five-minute turns, the birthday person last and longest. Suits a dinner party or a milestone birthday with a dozen people.
  • The favour. A one-card reading for each guest, ordered a week ahead and set at each place. Nobody has to watch a screen, and everyone leaves with something that was about them.

Milestone birthdays

Thirtieths, fortieths and fiftieths are where people book the most, because a round number asks a real question. A reader will work with that directly: what to carry into the decade, what to put down. For the astrological version of the same question, a solar return chart is cast for the exact moment the sun returns to its birth position, and that has its own guide.

Psychic or tarot reader

For a party, tarot: the spread gives the room something to watch and the reader something to narrate. For the gift, either works, and a psychic or intuitive reading is the more personal of the two. If the birthday person has a reader they already follow, look for them by name; many practitioners on Divina came from Instagram and Etsy and are here under the same name.

Lead time and price

A single reading for the birthday person can often be turned around within the delivery window on the listing, sometimes same day. A live session wants two weeks' notice; a batch of favours, three. One-question tarot readings on Divina start at $5, and most are $7.45 to $12 (from 9 live listings). Psychic and mediumship readings on Divina start at $11.99, and most are $33.33 to $44.44 (from 11 live listings). A live session is priced by its length, and the practitioner states the price in chat before you book.

How it works

You describe your intention in your own words, pay when you place the request, and a private chat opens with the practitioner. They perform the work inside the delivery window stated on the listing and share proof when it is done.

No practitioner on Divina may guarantee an outcome, and none of this is a substitute for medical, legal, financial or mental health care.

Common questions

Can I give a tarot reading as a birthday gift?

Yes, and it is the most common birthday booking on Divina. Commission the reading and pass it on, or arrange with the practitioner for the birthday person to send their own question so the reading is genuinely theirs.

Can the reader come to the party in person?

Divina's practitioners work remotely: a live video session for the room, or readings commissioned for each guest. For someone in the room, use the request form on this page with the city and date and Divina will try to source a local reader.

How much does a birthday reading cost?

A single reading costs what the listing says, set by the practitioner. One-question tarot readings on Divina start at $5, and most are $7.45 to $12 (from 9 live listings). Psychic and mediumship readings on Divina start at $11.99, and most are $33.33 to $44.44 (from 11 live listings). Per-guest favours are priced per reading; a live session by its length.

What is the difference between a birthday reading and a solar return?

A birthday reading is a tarot or psychic reading about the year ahead. A solar return is an astrological chart cast for the moment the sun returns to its birth position, read as the year ahead. Both are bought yearly; the solar return needs your exact birth time and city.
