Protection workings and warding

Last updated

Protection work sets a boundary around a person, a home or a situation. It is the most commonly commissioned category of working on Divina, starts around $30, and is often bought alongside a cleansing — the cleansing clears the space, the warding holds it.

Cleansing clears, warding holds

These get conflated and they do different jobs. A cleansing is a reset: it moves out what has accumulated. A protection working or ward is a boundary: it is meant to persist. Practitioners frequently recommend both in sequence, because warding a space you have not cleared first simply seals in whatever was already there.

If you are not sure which you need, describe what has been happening rather than naming a product. Practitioners scope it from that, and several will tell you a cleansing alone is enough rather than sell you both.

What protection work covers

  • Personal warding — a boundary around you, often after a period of feeling exposed or drained.
  • Home and property warding — a boundary around a space, its thresholds and its occupants.
  • Situational protection — around a specific ongoing thing: a legal matter, a workplace, a court date, a move.
  • Clearing and protection combined — a reset followed by a ward, the most common pairing.

Protection is not retaliation

A protection working defends what is yours. It does not send anything back at anyone, and Divina does not list return-to-sender, hexing, cursing or any baneful work regardless of how it is framed or how justified it feels. That is an Acceptable Use line and practitioners agree to it before opening a shop.

Divina lists protective, healing and intention-positive work only. Nothing baneful, nothing coercive, and nothing worked to bend another person's will.

If the situation involves someone frightening you in the physical world, please treat that as the emergency it is. A ward is not a safety plan, and the help center lists crisis resources.

What you receive

You describe your intention in your own words, pay when you place the request, and a private chat opens with the practitioner. They perform the work inside the delivery window stated on the listing and share proof when it is done.

Proof is evidence the work was performed, not evidence that it worked: the written reading itself, a photo of the spread or the altar, a recording, or a description of what was done and when.

No practitioner on Divina may guarantee an outcome, and none of this is a substitute for medical, legal, financial or mental health care.

Common questions

What is the difference between a cleansing and a protection spell?

A cleansing clears what has built up in a person or a space; a protection working sets a boundary meant to persist. They are usually done in that order, because warding an uncleared space seals in whatever was already there. Many practitioners offer them as a pair.

Can I commission a return-to-sender or a hex?

No. Divina lists protective, healing and intention-positive work only. Baneful, coercive and retaliatory work is prohibited by the Acceptable Use Policy on every shop, and listings are reviewed before they go live.

How much does a protection working cost?

Practitioners set their own prices. Protection and warding work on Divina generally starts around $30. Combined clearing-and-protection listings sit in a similar range. The price and delivery window are on the listing.

How long does protection work last?

That is a practitioner question, not a marketplace one, and the honest answer varies by tradition and by what the work was for. Ask in the order chat before you commission — a practitioner who gives you a confident universal number is overselling.
