Birthday readings and solar return charts
A birthday is the one occasion with a literal astrological event attached to it: the sun returning to the exact degree it held when you were born. A solar return chart is cast for that moment and read as the year ahead, which makes it the most natural birthday commission there is.

What a solar return chart is
Each year the sun comes back to the exact position it occupied at your birth, usually within a day of your birthday. A solar return chart is cast for that precise moment and read as a chart for the year that follows. It is a distinct piece of astrological work from your natal chart, which never changes, and it is bought yearly rather than once.
It needs the same data a natal reading needs — date, exact time and city of birth — because the return is calculated from the natal sun's precise degree.
Solar return, year-ahead reading, or natal chart?
- Natal chart reading — who you are, structurally. Bought once. The right first purchase if you have never had one.
- Solar return — the specific year beginning at this birthday, read astrologically.
- Year-ahead tarot reading — the next twelve months read through cards, often a card or spread per month. No birth data needed, which matters if you do not have your birth time.
If you do not know your birth time, the year-ahead tarot reading is the better buy: it gives you the same shape of answer without depending on data you cannot get. Natal chart readings on Divina start at $13, and most are $15 to $55.55 (from 13 live listings). Year-ahead readings on Divina start at $11.11, and most are $12.77 to $29 (from 4 live listings).
As a gift
Birthday readings are one of the most commonly gifted commissions, and the gift works better if the recipient supplies their own question. Commission it, then have them send their intention through the order chat — the reading is then genuinely about them rather than about what you assumed they wanted. For a chart reading you will need their birth data, which usually means asking.
Readings at a birthday party
For the party rather than the person, message a practitioner directly to book them at the party in person or live over video, or order per-guest one-question pulls ahead and hand them out. One-question tarot readings on Divina start at $0, and most are $5 to $10 (from 20 live listings). Their availability, travel area and in-person pricing are theirs to confirm.
You describe your intention in your own words, pay when you place the request, and a private chat opens with the practitioner. They perform the work inside the delivery window stated on the listing and share proof when it is done.
No practitioner on Divina may guarantee an outcome, and none of this is a substitute for medical, legal, financial or mental health care.

Common questions
What is a solar return chart?
A chart cast for the exact moment the sun returns to the degree it held at your birth — usually within a day of your birthday — and read as the year ahead. It is distinct from your natal chart, which never changes, and it is commissioned yearly.
What is the best reading to get for a birthday?
If you have never had a natal chart read, start there — it is the foundation everything else is read against. If you have, a solar return or a year-ahead reading covers the coming year. Without a known birth time, a year-ahead tarot reading is the better choice. Natal chart readings on Divina start at $13, and most are $15 to $55.55 (from 13 live listings). Year-ahead readings on Divina start at $11.11, and most are $12.77 to $29 (from 4 live listings).
Can I gift a reading to someone?
Yes, and it is one of the most common birthday commissions. It works best if the recipient sends their own intention through the order chat, so the reading is genuinely about them. For chart work you will need their birth date, time and city.
Can I book a reader for a birthday party?
Yes. Message a practitioner directly from this page to book them at the party in person or live over video, or order per-guest one-question pulls ahead as favours. One-question tarot readings on Divina start at $0, and most are $5 to $10 (from 20 live listings). Their availability, travel area and in-person pricing are theirs to confirm.
