Hire a tarot reader or psychic for a bridal shower

Last updated

A bridal shower already has the shape a reader needs: a group, an afternoon, and one person everyone is there for. The most-booked format is a live video session where guests take short turns and the bride gets the last and longest reading. On Divina you book a named tarot reader or psychic at a flat price.

Booking a reader for an event?

Bridal showers: say the date, the headcount, the city and the format, and we will source the right practitioner — in person where we can, live over video where we cannot.

Optional

We confirm availability and price with you before anything is booked or paid.

Shower or bachelorette: which guide you want

A shower is the daytime, mixed-generation event, often with the mothers and aunts in the room; the bachelorette is the night out. The formats overlap, but the tone does not. For a shower, book a reader whose shop reads as warm and plain-spoken, and tell them the age range. If you are planning the night out instead, the bachelorette guide covers that.

Formats for a shower

  • A live session over video, set up on a laptop or television in the room. Guests take a few minutes each; the bride goes last. Works beautifully for the lull after food and before gifts.
  • A reading for the bride, commissioned by the host and read aloud or given privately. A year-ahead spread or a love-and-home reading is the usual choice.
  • Per-guest readings as the favour: each guest sends one question in advance, and a short written reading waits at her seat.
  • A blessing for the bride in a named tradition, which is a different thing from a reading and has its own guide.

Psychic or tarot reader

For a mixed room, tarot is the safer choice: the cards give everyone something to look at and the reader something to narrate, and a guest who is there for the sandwiches can enjoy it as a game. A psychic or intuitive reading is more personal and lands better one-to-one than in a circle. If the bride specifically wants a psychic, book the private reading for her and keep tarot for the group.

What to arrange in advance

  1. Message the practitioner through their shop with the date, the time zone, the headcount and the age range.
  2. Agree the format and the length. Roughly five minutes a guest for a live session; per-guest readings are a batch with a delivery date.
  3. Collect guests' questions ahead if you are ordering individual readings. The practitioner will tell you how they want them.
  4. Book what you agreed. The price is stated before you pay and does not move.

Lead time and price

Two to four weeks ahead for a live session; longer for a batch of individual readings. Per-guest readings are priced per reading. One-question tarot readings on Divina start at $5, and most are $7.45 to $12 (from 9 live listings). Psychic and mediumship readings on Divina start at $11.99, and most are $33.33 to $44.44 (from 11 live listings). A live session is priced by its length.

How it works

You describe your intention in your own words, pay when you place the request, and a private chat opens with the practitioner. They perform the work inside the delivery window stated on the listing and share proof when it is done.

No practitioner on Divina may guarantee an outcome, and none of this is a substitute for medical, legal, financial or mental health care.

Common questions

Can the reader come to the bridal shower in person?

Divina's practitioners work remotely, so what you book here is a live video session or readings commissioned for each guest. For an in-person reader, use the request form on this page with the city and date; Divina will try to source one locally, with the video session as the fallback.

Is a tarot reading appropriate for an older or religious guest list?

Tell the reader the room, and let guests opt in. A good reader keeps a shower reading light and about the guest's own year, and nobody is read who has not asked. If the bride's family would rather have a blessing than a reading, the showers guide covers blessings in a named tradition.

How much does a bridal shower reader cost?

A live session is priced by length; per-guest readings are priced per reading, so the total follows the guest list. One-question tarot readings on Divina start at $5, and most are $7.45 to $12 (from 9 live listings). The practitioner states the price in chat before you book.

What should the bride's reading be about?

The year ahead, what she is bringing into the marriage, and what to leave behind — not whether the marriage will last. No practitioner on Divina predicts outcomes or reads the partner without their knowledge.
