Showers are the easiest occasion to arrange spiritual work around, because the format is already a group giving one person their attention. The two things people commission are a blessing for the person being celebrated, and a small reading for each guest to take home.
Blessing the person, not the party
For a baby shower, the tradition being reached for is usually some version of a blessingway or mother blessing: a rite focused on the person giving birth rather than on gifts for the baby. Commissioned remotely, that becomes a blessing or prayer said for them by a practitioner in a named tradition, delivered as a written account you can read aloud on the day if you want to.
For a bridal shower the equivalent is a blessing on the person or the union. Both are commonly bought by a friend or a parent rather than by the honouree, which is worth knowing when you write the intention — say who it is for and what you know about what they are walking into.
