New Year's Eve and New Year readings: tarot and psychic

Last updated

The week between Christmas and New Year is the busiest of the year for year-ahead readings, and New Year's Eve itself is the second night, after Halloween, that people book a reader for a party. On Divina you commission a named tarot reader or psychic at a flat price: a live session for the room, or a year-ahead reading for yourself.

Booking a reader for an event?

New Year: say the date, the headcount, the city and the format, and we will source the right practitioner — in person where we can, live over video where we cannot.

Optional

We confirm availability and price with you before anything is booked or paid.

The year-ahead reading

The classic is a twelve-card spread, one card per month, read as the shape of the year. Readers also offer a simpler past-present-future pull, or a psychic reading on a single question you are carrying into January. It is commissioned for yourself far more than as a gift, and it is the reading people come back for annually. Order it in December if you want it in hand on the first; many practitioners' windows run a week or more by then.

A reader for the party

  • A live video session before midnight: guests take short turns while the room is still coherent. Ten to fifteen people; the host last.
  • A year-ahead card for each guest, commissioned ahead and opened together at midnight. The format that gets photographed.
  • A reading for the couple, or for the host, as the gift of the night.

Booking around the holidays

Practitioners are people with their own holidays. Message them in early December for anything on New Year's Eve itself, and read the delivery window on the listing: a reading ordered on the thirtieth with a five-day window arrives in January, which is fine for a year-ahead reading and not for a party favour.

What a reader will and will not say about the year

A year-ahead reading is reflection, not forecast. No practitioner on Divina will predict a specific event, guarantee an outcome, or tell you whether to take a job or leave a relationship, because that is Acceptable Use. What a good reader does is name the themes you are walking into and the questions worth asking in each season, which is more useful on the second of January than a prediction would be.

What it costs

One-question tarot readings on Divina start at $5, and most are $7.45 to $12 (from 9 live listings). Psychic and mediumship readings on Divina start at $11.99, and most are $33.33 to $44.44 (from 11 live listings). A twelve-month spread is longer work and priced above a one-question reading. Per-guest cards are priced per reading; a live session by its length.

How it works

You describe your intention in your own words, pay when you place the request, and a private chat opens with the practitioner. They perform the work inside the delivery window stated on the listing and share proof when it is done.

No practitioner on Divina may guarantee an outcome, and none of this is a substitute for medical, legal, financial or mental health care.

Common questions

What is a year-ahead tarot reading?

Most often a twelve-card spread, one per month, read as the shape of the coming year, or a shorter pull on the question you are carrying into it. It is reflection rather than forecast: themes and questions, not predicted events.

When should I order a New Year reading?

In December, so it arrives by the first. Delivery windows run a week or more around the holidays. For a reader at a New Year's Eve party, message them in early December.

Can the reader predict what will happen next year?

No. No practitioner on Divina predicts specific events or guarantees outcomes. A year-ahead reading names themes and questions for each season, which is what makes it worth revisiting in June.

How much does a New Year reading cost?

The practitioner sets the price and it is on the listing before you pay. One-question tarot readings on Divina start at $5, and most are $7.45 to $12 (from 9 live listings). A twelve-month spread costs more than a one-question reading because it is more work.
