Hire a psychic or tarot reader for a Halloween party

Last updated

Halloween is the one night of the year a tarot reader is the obvious hire, and the one month every reader's calendar fills. On Divina you book a named psychic or tarot reader at a flat price: a live video session your party joins from the room, or a short reading commissioned for each guest and handed out at the door.

Booking a reader for an event?

Halloween: say the date, the headcount, the city and the format, and we will source the right practitioner — in person where we can, live over video where we cannot.

Optional

We confirm availability and price with you before anything is booked or paid.

Book in September, not the week of

Readers on Divina take the same number of commissions in October as any other month; the difference is that everybody wants them in the same ten days. Message a practitioner in September for a per-guest batch, and no later than the first week of October for a live session on the night. A reader who is already full will say so in chat rather than take the booking and compress the work.

Formats that suit a Halloween party

  • A live session over video, on a laptop or a television in a quieter room. Guests take five minutes each; the host goes last. Works for a house party of ten to fifteen.
  • Readings as the favour: each guest sends a question a week ahead, and a sealed one-card reading waits for them at the door. Scales to any guest list and needs no screen on the night.
  • A single reading for the host, or for the guest of honour at a Halloween birthday.
  • A mediumship reading, which some people want on this night specifically. It is a different kind of work from tarot, with its own guide, and an honest medium will tell you what they will and will not do.

Keeping the fright in the costumes

A Halloween reading is entertainment and personal reflection, and the practitioners who do it well keep it warm. No practitioner on Divina will read a guest who has not asked, predict a death or an illness, or perform anything meant to frighten, curse or bind. That is Acceptable Use, not a mood. Tell your guests the readings are optional and about their own year, and the ones who want one will queue.

Psychic or tarot reader on the night

Tarot is the natural pick for a costumed room: the spread is something to look at, the reader narrates it, and a guest who is only there for the punch can enjoy it as theatre. A psychic or intuitive reading is quieter and lands better one-to-one than in a circle. Many practitioners offer both; say the tone you want when you message them.

What it costs

Per-guest readings are priced per reading, so a batch scales with the guest list. One-question tarot readings on Divina start at $5, and most are $7.45 to $12 (from 9 live listings). Psychic and mediumship readings on Divina start at $11.99, and most are $33.33 to $44.44 (from 11 live listings). A live session is priced by its length. Agree the whole scope in chat before booking; the price you agree is the price charged, with no meter running on the night.

How it works

You describe your intention in your own words, pay when you place the request, and a private chat opens with the practitioner. They perform the work inside the delivery window stated on the listing and share proof when it is done.

No practitioner on Divina may guarantee an outcome, and none of this is a substitute for medical, legal, financial or mental health care.

Common questions

Can a tarot reader come to my Halloween party in person?

Divina's practitioners work remotely, so what you book here is a live video session for the room or readings commissioned for each guest. For a reader at the venue, use the request form on this page with the city, date and headcount; Divina will try to source a local reader, with the video session as the fallback.

How far ahead should I book a Halloween reader?

September for a batch of per-guest readings, and the first week of October at the latest for a live session on the night. October is every reader's fullest month.

Will the reader do anything scary?

No. Readings on Divina are reflection and entertainment. No practitioner will predict a death or illness, read someone who did not ask, or perform work meant to frighten or curse. The reader keeps it warm; the costumes supply the fright.

Can we have a séance or a medium instead of tarot?

A mediumship reading is a real kind of work on Divina, and some practitioners offer it for a small group. It is not a séance for entertainment, and an honest medium will set expectations before the night. The mediumship guide explains what to expect.
