The Dancing Shadow

Make room for complexity without turning it into fear. A shadow moves because light is present; uncertainty can be met with curiosity instead of warning.

A shadow on the wall is only ever evidence of light. It stretches and folds as the dancer moves, and none of its shapes are the dancer. This card points at the situations in your life that refuse to be simple: a friendship with both warmth and friction in it, a decision with good reasons on each side, a feeling you cannot sort into one category. The urge is to call them a problem and brace. The shape can also simply be watched for a while, the way a shadow on a sunlit floor is watched. It is allowed to be interesting before it has to mean anything.

You might spend a few minutes with something unresolved in your life and make a small mark of it instead of a decision about it: a quick sketch, a line of a poem, a few words spoken like a prayer. Let it be as mixed as it actually is. Notice what it feels like to hold the whole shape without needing it to settle.
