Anyone who has picked at a knot in yarn knows that pulling hard makes it worse. The loops give one at a time, and the first one to come loose is rarely the one you were pulling on. This card points at the tangled place in your day, the worry with six strands or the conversation you keep rewinding, and it asks for one loop, not the whole skein. Relief does not wait for the end of the work. It starts the moment one strand has room to move. You can put the needles down after that and come back later. Nothing about a knot requires you to finish it today. The thread keeps. So does the heart it is wound around.

One way to hold this today is with your hands: a few rows of knitting, a tangled cord straightened, a drawer of string set right. While your fingers work, let one small thought loosen too, just one. When you feel the give, stop there and notice what has eased, even a little.
