Renewal omens

Renewal is the theme for beginning again on an ordinary morning, without asking the beginning to be dramatic. Its cards tend to speak at the start of the day: bread set out at dawn, a fern uncurling one slow inch, a flame that is tended rather than struck, a doorway you can step through as you already are. They do not expect you to arrive transformed. They notice the warmth that is already here and the modest hope you keep in a pocket, close enough to touch.
