The Two Candles

Your light can meet another without becoming less your own. Two flames share warmth while keeping separate wicks; loving closeness leaves each person whole.

Set two candles near enough and their light overlaps on the wall. The room grows brighter, and neither flame has given anything away. Each still has its own wick, its own wax, its own slow burn. This card points at closeness in ordinary form: the person you share a kitchen with, the friend whose evenings you know by heart, the family member whose moods you can read across a room. Being near does not require dissolving. The overlap is where the warmth doubles. The separate wicks are what keep it burning.

You might light a candle tonight, or simply picture one, and think of someone whose light overlaps with yours. Name one thing about them you are glad exists apart from you, a habit, a talent, a way of laughing. Let the gratitude stay theirs. Then notice your own flame, still steady.
