The Rosehip Heart

Let affection be nourishing, reciprocal, and free. Rosehips guard sweetness while ripening; mutual affection can nourish without asking anyone to disappear.

Rosehips ripen after the petals are gone. The showy part of the rose is over, and what remains is small, red, and full of something good. This card points at affection that has moved past display: the friend who checks in without an agenda, the sibling who remembers what you said last month, the love that does not keep a ledger. Two hands can be close without gripping. When affection is mutual, nobody has to shrink to keep it going. Where warmth flows both ways, nobody is holding on too tightly. That is the sweetness the rosehip guards: not the bloom, but what feeds.

You might take three slow breaths and, on each exhale, let your hands open on your lap until they are resting with nothing held. Then think of one person whose care for you asks nothing back.
