A cup thrown by hand is never quite round. The fingerprints pressed into the wet clay stay in the fired piece, and they are usually the reason someone picks that cup over a smooth one. This card points at the parts of yourself you have been treating as flaws: the way you go quiet when hurt, the crooked path that got you here, the mark left by a year you would not repeat. None of that keeps you from holding warmth. A cup does not have to be perfect to carry tea across a room. It has to be whole enough, and it has to be used.

You might hold a cup in both hands for a few quiet minutes, tea or plain water, and feel the places where it is uneven. Let each ridge stand in for one mark of your own that you have been apologizing for. Drink slowly. Notice that the cup holds what it holds, unevenness and all.
