What the per-minute sites charge, in their own words
These figures come from each company's own pages rather than from a review site, because most psychic review sites are paid a commission per signup by the platforms they rank. All were read on 2 September 2026 and rates change, so treat them as the shape of the model rather than a quote.

The structural difference
A per-minute rate makes the final cost a function of the conversation's length, which nobody knows in advance — not you, and not the reader. That has two consequences worth naming. It quietly rewards a reader for taking longer, and it charges you for thinking. Whether any individual reader responds to that incentive is beside the point; the model is built that way.
California Psychics' own help page is the clearest illustration: an offline message is billed as five minutes at the reader's rate. At the $8.50 tier that is a single message for $42.50, regardless of its length. That is not a criticism of the service, it is simply what per-minute accounting does to a thing that is not measured in minutes.
A flat commission prices the work instead of the time. The reader is paid for the reading, so the incentive is to make it good rather than long, and you can sit with your question for as long as you like before sending it.

When a per-minute service is the better choice
There are real cases, and pretending otherwise would make this page worthless:
- You want a live voice in the next few minutes. Divina is a commission marketplace; the fastest work here is same-day, not same-minute.
- The conversation needs to change direction as it goes — you want to interrupt, push back, and follow something that surfaces mid-reading.
- You genuinely only want a few minutes, and an introductory offer covers it.
- You want to try several readers quickly before committing to one.
When a flat commission is the better choice
- You want to know the total before you start, with no possibility of it growing.
- The question deserves a considered answer rather than an improvised one — chart work, a full spread, a ritual.
- You want something you keep and can re-read months later.
- You want to choose a specific practitioner, in a specific tradition, rather than take the queue.
- You want follow-up questions not to cost anything.
- You are wary of the escalating-fee pattern, and you want payment held until the work is actually delivered.

Is Divina cheaper than Keen or Kasamba?
The difference is predictability rather than a lower number. Keen publishes an introductory offer of 5 minutes for $1 and Kasamba 3 free minutes; after the offer, a per-minute total scales with the length of the conversation, while a flat price on Divina is fixed before you start. What is the difference between a per-minute reading and a commissioned one?
A per-minute reading bills you for time connected to whoever is available; the total is unknown until it ends. A commissioned reading is a fixed price for a defined piece of work from a practitioner you chose, delivered inside a stated window, and you keep the result.
Does Divina have an introductory offer?
No. Every listing shows the practitioner's own price, and that is what you pay. Introductory rates exist on per-minute platforms because the standard rate is what the business runs on; there is no equivalent discount to offer against a flat price.
Can I talk to a reader live on Divina?
Yes, but scheduled rather than on demand. Some practitioners offer live 1:1 sessions over video or voice, booked for a time. Most work on Divina is asynchronous: you write your intention, and the practitioner delivers the finished reading with proof.
Which is safer?
They protect you differently. Per-minute platforms typically cap exposure through prepaid balances and offer satisfaction credits. Divina states the total up front, holds payment until the practitioner delivers proof the work was performed, hand reviews every practitioner before their shop opens, and lets any listing or order be reported to a human. Neither is a guarantee about the reading itself, which nobody can give.
